School Daze

Girl From Texas ,who loves fall, New York, New York in the fall, and newly sharpened pencils, has been busy this past month, getting ready for school. For you see, GFT 's actual profession is not internet blogger, it is school teacher. Normally, this process of getting ready to go back to school requires very little in terms of actual work, because GFT is an old saw and has been teaching a long, long time. She has many routines and lessons down pat. But as part of her on-going "midlife crisis " ( which has been dragging on for over a decade now, since GFT was 32 or earlier, and shows no signs of ever actually being resolved ) , GFT decided to switch teaching assignments - change subjects, departments - in a very drastic way. GFT is certified to teach in multiple subjects, and whenever she gets bored, she trots off and takes another test and adds another certification ( teaching area ) to her resume. Over a 20+ year career, which has also involved a considerable amount of moving around the country ( to accommodate one husband, or another's, career changes ) GFT has changed career areas several times. This time, however, it is of her own choice, and involves moving into a subject area she loves and has not taught in quite a while. So GFT has been frantically busy, reading novels, writing lesson plans, devising tests and essays and classroom activities - and unable to devote as much time as she would like, to her blog.
