About Me

My photo
Girl From Texas
DFW metroplex, Texas, United States
My parents were both raised in small Texas towns; my family has lived here since the 1830's. We've never been ranchers or cowboys or bootleggers or anything interesting like that. Daddy went to UT and mama went to Baylor. They must have done something right, because even though I was cute and all, I managed to get into Rice University, somehow, where I ended up with two degrees : a BA in classical history/English literature/business (minor in economics), and a Master's in education . I've worked as a marketing and sales manager for Proctor and Gamble, in retail store sales, as a librarian, as an archaeologist, had a brief stint as a fashion model in my youth, a waitress, and as a high school English teacher. Through it all I've traveled the world, read a lot of books, sampled the arts, met a lot of people, and earned a few more college degrees here and there. I'm on husband number two and I like to think I'm a better judge of men than I was 30 years ago. I share with you here not only my perspective on all things Texan, but life in general: Fiction, non-fiction, and many things in-between.
